How much does a wedding photo booth cost in 2026?

Rental prices, hidden costs, and the real calculation: how much each photo you keep actually costs you.

The photo booth is on every list of wedding suppliers. Before you sign, you need to know what you are really paying for, because the price on the quote is almost never the final price.

Ballpark figures

Classic self-service photo booth: €350 to €700 for the evening.
Booth with unlimited printing: €500 to €900.
Magic mirror (the large touch-screen mirror): €600 to €1,000.
Photo booth with an on-site technician: €800 to €1,300.
Equipment hire to set up yourself: €150 to €300.

These ranges vary a lot depending on the region, the season and the day of the week: a Saturday in June near Paris has nothing in common with a Friday in October in the countryside. Always ask for two or three quotes.

The costs people forget

Travel. Often charged beyond 30 or 50 km. Allow €50 to €150 if your venue is remote.
Extra hours. Many packages stop at 2 am. Every extra hour costs more.
Props and backdrop. Sometimes included, often an extra €50 to €100.
Consumables. If printing isn’t unlimited, paper refills add up quickly.
The deposit. Often €300 to €1,000 held, to get back afterwards.

The real calculation: the cost per photo kept

This is the number that matters. A booth typically produces 40 to 80 photo strips over an evening. At €600, you are therefore paying around €8 to €15 per strip. Of those strips, how many will you really keep? Three? Five?

To see where this expense fits into the bigger picture, have a look at how much to spend on your wedding photos. The problem isn’t quality: booths take good photos. It is the bottleneck: one booth for 100 guests means a queue, and above all it concentrates all the photos in one spot. Everything happening at the tables, at the bar, outside or on the dance floor is never captured.

“We cancelled the photo booth. Our guests took twice as many photos, and far more varied ones.” Léa & Marius · 2026

When it is worth it

The photo booth keeps one real advantage: instant printing. If you want your guests to leave with a photo strip in hand, or you are set on a guest book with the prints stuck in, it is unbeatable.

If, on the other hand, what you want is to collect as many good memories as possible from the whole evening, there are better options for much less money.

The €15 alternative

Turning every guest into a photographer costs between €0 and €40 for a whole wedding (10 to 20 times less than a booth) and covers the whole room instead of a single corner. We compare the four possible options in photo booth, selfie booth, mirror or disposable: which to choose?, and explain the idea in the alternative your guests prefer.

With Time to Flash, you pay once, depending on your number of guests, and that’s it. No deposit, no travel costs, no extra hours.
